Plato UMD - Internationally Accredited University in the Kyrgyz Republic

On the 28th April 2010, the Plato University of Management and Design (Plato UMD)1 became the first educational institution in Central Asia to be awarded Centre Approval from the British Government's leading accrediting authority: Edexcel2. Plato UMD will offer students internationally recognised qualifications (BTECs3) - National Diplomas enabling Plato UMD's graduates to easily enter international universities throughout the world to continue their education, find jobs here or abroad, or they can stay in Bishkek and pursue their bachelor degree with Plato UMD. BTEC Diplomas are internationally recognised by both employers and universities worldwide.

"This is a tremendous achievement by Plato UMD," said Plato UMD's Director of Academic Affairs, Mr Browne, "Many universities in the region are trying for international accreditation, and Plato UMD has succeeded. This is excellent news for all students wishing to study at Plato UMD. "

The Director of Academic Affairs continued, "This is just the beginning for our new European University here in Bishkek. We will develop other accredited programmes and expand the horizons and opportunities for talented young people."

Another unique feature of the education offered by Plato UMD is that it's vocationally based. This means Plato UMD prepares students for the real world and real jobs. Not only this, the teaching methodology is project and assignment orientated without the need for time restricted examinations, which many students find too stressful, whereby, through no fault of their own, they underachieve and often fail.
